Brown Boots

Brown Boots

A boot is a type of footwear and a specific type of shoe. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle and extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Traditionally made of leather or rubber, modern boots are made from a variety of materials. Boots are worn both for their functionality – protecting the foot and leg from water, snow, mud or hazards or providing additional ankle support for strenuous activities – and for reasons of style and fashion. High-top athletic shoes are generally not considered boots, even though they do cover the ankle, primarily due to the absence of a distinct heel.

Moon Boots

Moon Boots

Moon Boots are footwear first created in the early 1970s by manufacturer Tecnica Group of Giavera del Montello, Italy. They became a notable fashion trend throughout the 1980s. The boot is constructed with a thin rubber outsole and cellular rubber midsole covered by colorful Nylon fabrics and using polyurethane foams. Tecnica registered worldwide the trademark Moon Boot® name in 1978. As of 2010 Tecnica still offers the Moon Boot though there are many imitators. With the trademark's registrations, the authentic Tecnica boot is the only one able to be marketed as a "Moon Boot®". Since 2011 they are produced in Ukraine, at the rate of some 700,000 per year.

Ariat Boots

Ariat Boots

Ariat is an American manufacturer of riding boots and other equipment and apparel intended for equestrians. Founded by Beth Cross and Pam Parker, Ariat International, Inc. sought to provide engineered western style boots for riding, work, and casual wear. Footwear engineers designed were hired by Beth and Pam to reexamine riding boot requirements, as classic English and Western riding boots were built in traditional ways using stacked leather which wears well but provides little cushioning. Shipping the first production boots in 1993, Ariat boots often take advantage of rubber pads and heels. Since its inception, Ariat has become a popular English riding boot brand, and the company has sponsored many equestrian events.

Snow Boots

Snow Boots

A snow boot is a type of boot, generally waterproof, or water-resistant. The boot, in almost all cases, has a high side, keeping snow from entering the boot, and a rubber sole, to keep water out. Because of their water-resistant material, snowboots are often used in wet, slushy, or muddy situations. This means not a half inch dusting of snow, of water, but quite deep, heavy wet snow, slush, or mud.Snow boots are waterproof or water resistant, but winter boots are not. The two boot types have different uses. The snowboot is used on very wet or snowy conditions, while winter boots are better used on well-maintained roads or paths, or even while shopping. Snow boots are made of easy-to-clean materials, but winter boots are not. However, this cleanability and waterproofing comes at the cost that snowboots are heavier, less breathable, and more expensive.
